I recalled the many hours I’d spent debating with myself how the shot would sound, the impact of the bullet, and whether the possibility that I would screw it up and live was worth the risk. When I’d finally decided that it was more than worth it, I felt at ease with myself. It was almost as if I had control over the situation and no one else could change it or take it away from me.
The next few minutes ticked by so slowly. A part of me wanted some sort of divine intervention, yet another part of me wanted confirmation that my decision to take my life was the right one.
